L’internationnal canadien Ryan SCLATER est le nouveau pointu du Montpellier-Castelnau-Volley pour cette nouvelle saison. Interview.

Tu rejoins le Montpellier-Castelnau-Volley, quel est ton sentiment ?

Je suis enthousiaste à l’idée de relever un nouveau défi après un début de carrière professionnelle à Lueneburg, en Allemagne. Je pense que je peux être un bon complément pour l’équipe. Le Club et la ville me conviendront parfaitement pour moi et ma famille, à la fois sur le terrain et à l’extérieur.

Quelle est ton ambition pour cette nouvelle saison ?

J’espère que nous pourrons continuer à figurer parmi les meilleures équipes de la Ligue et surfer sur les succès remportés par le club ces dernières années. Je pense que nous pouvons aller loin en play-offs si nous travaillons fort toute l’année pour atteindre notre meilleur niveau. Pour moi, il est important de se concentrer sur l’entrainement et d’essayer de s’améliorer chaque jour, et les résultats seront atteints à la fin de l’année.

As-tu un message pour les supporters montpelliérains ?

Je suis impatient de faire partie de votre belle ville ! Notre petite famille se déplace à travers le monde pour vous rejoindre et j’espère que nous pourrons trouver un peu de chez nous à Montpellier.

Quel est ton meilleur souvenir de volley-ball ?

Gagner mon premier championnat dans la ligue universitaire canadienne et porter la feuille d’érable pour représenter mon pays pour la première fois.

Quel est ton sportif préféré ? Pourquoi ?

Le joueur grec de basket évoluant en NBA Giannis Antetokounmpo, parce qu’il est humble, travailleur et spectaculaire à regarder.

You come to Montpellier, what is your feeling?

I am excited for a new challenge after a great start to my professional career in Lueneburg. I think that I can be a good fit for the team, and the team will be a great fit for me and my family both on and off the court.

What is your ambition for this new season?

I hope that we can continue to finish among the top teams in the league and build on the success of the club in recent years. I think we can earn a medal in the playoffs if we work hard throughout the year and become the best we can be. For me, it is important to focus on the process and try to get a little bit better every day, and at the end of the year the results will come.

Do you have a message for Montpellier Fans?

I am excited to become a part of your beautiful city! Our little family is moving across the world to join you, and I hope that we can find a little bit of home in Montpellier.      

What is your best memory of volleyball?

Winning my first championship in the Canadian university league, and wearing the maple leaf to represent my country for the first time.

What is your favorite sportsman? Why?

Giannis Antetokounmpo, because he is humble and hardworking, but spectacular to watch.
